Markham Japan Karate Association is a not-for-profit organization and is a member of the Japan Karate Assocation (JKA) through the Canada JKA Karate Federation (CJKF).

 

The Japan Karate Assocation has schools in over 100 countries and a dozen schools in the GTA. Belt levels obtaining through the Markham Japan Karate Association are recognized throughout the world.

 

Objectives of the Markham Japan Karate Assocation:

 

a) promoting interest in and the study and practice of martial arts, especially karate;

b) providing facilities for education and instruction in martial arts;

c) arranging matches and competitions, and establishing and granting prizes, awards and distinctions;

d) fostering goodwill and sportsmanship;

e) establishing health and athletic programs for benefit to the community;

 

and such other complementary purposes not inconsistent with these objects.
